A new cinema platform, “Cinema of Turkey”, both founded and directed by Elif Dağdeviren, broke new ground in the field of “Turkish Cinema International Academic Meetings” in Spain.
Escuela TAI students watched special selections from “Turkish Cinema” in Madrid and they are asked to write essays by comparing Turkish Cinema with Spanish Cinema.
Jennifer Da Silva, a student from Escuela TAI University, won this essay competition with her “Sensitive Cinema” essay. As a reward, Jennifer Da Silva came to Istanbul and hosted by Steigenberger Hotel Maslak Istanbul between the 3rd and 5th of August. Elif Dagdeviren, Director of “Cinema of Turkey”, and Jennifer Da Silva spoke about the film industry. In this conversation Silva said “I am not sure that Turkish cinema was reborn or it was growing for a long time but without a shadow of doubt it has a solid ground. This is a cinema culture that is sensitive to art and it can be impressed by the beautiful darkness of life and people.”. She finished her words with “I am amazed by Istanbul’s fascinating atmosphere and Steigenberger Hotel Maslak Istanbul was hosted me perfectly.”
